Listen up guys. Voting is now open for the first City Weekend Suzhou Readers' Choice Awards. The time has come to vote for your favorite dining and nightlife venues in Suzhou.
Voting starts today and runs through the end of the month--look for final winners to be announced in May. And yes, as always, we will be putting in some sleepless nights weeding out the fake votes to ensure that fairness prevails. One set of votes per person and you have to have a valid user account to vote. (Don't have an account yet? Sign up here).
Got some questions about how this whole thing works? We thought you might, so below we've answered some of your FAQs.
Who are the nominees?
The nominees are a compilation of the most buzzed venues found on City Weekend. That means they were chosen by users like YOU! This year, we're giving even more power to you - our loyal readers whose opinion matters the most to us. Open nominations are available in each category, so feel free to express your passion for this city.
What's in it for me?
We’ll be giving away various prize vouchers (such as RMB500 Sherpa's voucher) to every 30th voter (Voter #30, #60, #90 and so on), so hurry and vote today to see if you’re a lucky winner! We'll announce the winners after the voting closes on April 30 and contact you via email.
How many awards are dished out?
Each category will have two placings. The Readers' Choice Award is given to the absolute most-voted venue. The Editor’s Pick Award is selected by our editors according to our criteria and expertise. We will present the prizes at our big City Weekend Suzhou Readers' Choice Awards Party in May.
When can I vote?
Balloting is open now and closes after April 30th. Tell your friends, family, and colleagues, and encourage them to vote! May your favorite bar, restaurant, club or band win!

I'm interested in going to see a band that I've wanted to see for a while in Shanghai tomorrow, friday, night. They're Japanese and called Trippple Nippples and are supposed to put on a wild show (kindof punk/dance/arty music). If anyone's interested in joining me or already planning on going, send me a message. See below for vids and show info:
Should be rad
Thanks to everyone who came out Sunday. It was a great experience for me and all of the other musicians as well, I hope you liked it too!
We are all scheduled to perform a 40 minute set each. It starts off with the Alchemists and then Boxty Rebellion. Next is The Beat Appreciation Society, Surging Waves, Idle Hands, and Buskateers. It's going to be a special night!
